Hamza Jaka is a contract attorney who is affiliated with Gardiner Koch Weisberg and Wrona. Hamza was engaged by the firm in 2019, and is a lifelong Wisconsinite. He earned his undergraduate and law degrees from UC Berkeley in 2014, and 2018 respectively. Hamza has assisted in corporate defense, injury, real estate litigation, and collections defense.
Hamza is disabled, and Muslim, and is an active community leader, particularly in civil rights related work. Hamza has extensive experience with the Americans with Disabilities Act, both in bringing claims, and helping employers create an inclusive environment. He also has experience with disability rights laws and principles relating accommodations and supports in education. Hamza serves as an advisor to the Elder Law and Special Needs Association Section Board of the Wisconsin State Bar. He also has experience in Medicaid and disability estate planning.
In law school, Hamza assisted one of his professors in writing a book chapter on comparative disability rights, and also worked with the UC Berkeley School of Law Policy Advocacy Clinic, helping a coalition of community activists, lawyers, law students and law professors abolish juvenile fines and fees in California. In 2015, Hamza was recognized by President Obama for his disability rights work.
